Massage Therapy in Lake Geneva
What to Expect During Your Massage Session
Massage sessions at Aura Alignment Center are designed to feel safe, comfortable, and tailored to exactly what your body needs. We begin with a conversation about what's been going on physically, what areas need attention, and what kind of pressure feels right for you. Your comfort and consent guide every moment of the session.
You'll be on a massage table in a quiet, warm room. Draping is always used to ensure your privacy and comfort. Only the area being worked on is exposed, and you're welcome to communicate at any time about pressure, temperature, or anything else that would enhance your experience.
The session itself may include a combination of techniques depending on what your body is asking for. Some areas might need slow, sustained pressure. Others might respond better to gentle stretching or rhythmic, flowing strokes. As a therapist with more than 30 years of experience, I've learned to listen through my hands and adjust the work in real time to what your tissues are telling me.
Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes. Afterward, we'll talk briefly about what came up during the session, any self-care recommendations, and how frequently you might benefit from returning.
How Massage Therapy Supports Your Body
At a physical level, massage therapy helps reduce muscle tightness, stiffness, and pain by increasing blood flow and oxygen to tissues. This enhanced circulation supports cellular repair, decreases inflammation, and improves flexibility and range of motion. Massage can also stimulate the lymphatic system, helping the body remove metabolic waste and excess fluid, which supports immune health and reduces swelling.
Equally important, massage therapy has a profound effect on the nervous system. Gentle, rhythmic touch activates the parasympathetic "rest and digest" response, helping lower stress hormones such as cortisol while encouraging relaxation. As the nervous system settles, clients often experience improved sleep, reduced anxiety, and a greater sense of calm and clarity.
Beyond symptom relief, massage therapy encourages body awareness and self-connection. Regular sessions can help clients become more attuned to how stress, posture, emotions, and lifestyle affect their physical health. Over time, this awareness supports long-term wellness, resilience, and a deeper sense of balance within the body.

Types of Massage Offered

Focused, sustained pressure on deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to address chronic tension, restricted movement, and stubborn knots.Myofascial Release
Slow, gentle techniques that work with the fascia (connective tissue) to release restrictions, improve mobility, and restore fluid movement throughout the body.Trigger Point Therapy
Targeted pressure on specific points of tension that refer pain to other areas of the body. Effective for headaches, neck pain, and chronic discomfort patterns.Lymphatic Drainage
Gentle, rhythmic strokes that support the lymphatic system in removing waste, reducing swelling, and supporting immune function. Particularly beneficial post-surgery or for inflammatory conditions.Nervous System Regulation
Subtle, grounding techniques that help calm an overstimulated nervous system and bring the body into a parasympathetic (rest and restore) state. Each session is customized based on what you need that day. The therapist listens to the body through touch, adjusting pressure and techniques to create a safe and supportive experience.

Patti's Approach: Three Decades of Skilled, Intuitive Bodywork
I've been a licensed massage therapist for over 30 years. In that time, I've worked with thousands of bodies, each one teaching me something new about how we hold tension, where we compensate, and what true release feels like.
My training spans multiple modalities, but what really guides my work is presence. I don't follow a script or a routine. I follow what I feel under my hands. That might mean spending more time on your neck and shoulders because that's where you're gripping. It might mean working slowly and gently because your nervous system needs permission to let go. Or it might mean deeper, more focused work on a stubborn knot that's been limiting your movement for months.
My approach weaves together touch, intuition, and a deep respect for your body's wisdom. I'm not here to force change or push through resistance. I'm here to create the conditions where your body feels safe enough to release what it's been holding.
Over the years, my practice has expanded to include vibrational sound therapy, Reiki, breathwork, and aura reading. This broader perspective informs my massage work in subtle but powerful ways. I understand that physical tension often has emotional or energetic roots, and I'm trained to support healing on all of those levels.

The Difference Experience Makes
There are a lot of massage therapists out there. What sets this work apart is time, training, and presence.
Three decades of hands-on practice means I've encountered just about every pattern of tension, compensation, and holding the human body can create. I know what plantar fasciitis feels like under my hands. I know how to work with post-surgical scar tissue. I know the difference between muscle guarding because of structural issues versus guarding because the nervous system doesn't feel safe.
This isn't about being the best. It's about being experienced enough to meet you where you are and skilled enough to help you move toward where you want to be.
